Richborough Mast

Safety

The proposed Richborough mast will use microwave radio waves to transmit data between the UK and Europe. This microwave radio transmission is commonly used in point-to-point communication systems in the UK and around the world.

The microwave energy generated by our equipment at the base of the proposed mast would be significantly lower than that emitted by common household devices such as mobile telephones, microwave ovens and Wi-Fi routers.

Our proposal is accompanied by an ICNIRP Certificate confirming the mast is designed in full compliance with International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) guidelines as recommended by the UK’s Health & Safety Executive and our equipment will operate under licences issued by Ofcom.
